If you don't, this is a solution you can use tocloft with \renewcommand % for sections, if you really want! (It is default in report and book class (So you may not need it). Add or select a tab stop, and then select leader character option under Leader you want displayed. Use a right-aligned tab to line up the characters. Select the Paragraph dialog launcher and then select Tabs.
I had a confusion :- Whether you want dots or you don't. The dotted line is called a leader Double-click the horizontal ruler where you want the right characters to appear.
